Multilingual Websites

A second language is not a translation button. It is separate addresses per language, correct signals to search engines, translated menus, forms and error messages, and a workflow your team can keep up with when the German page changes and the English one has to follow.

What you get

  • A language structure that fits your markets: subfolders, subdomains or country domains
  • Correct hreflang and sitemap signals so each market sees its own pages in search
  • Every string translated: menus, buttons, forms, emails, legal pages, not just the articles
  • A translation workflow with status per page, so nothing is published half translated
  • Professional translation through partners, or a setup for your own translators

Our own multilingual system

We have run large multilingual sites on the usual WordPress translation plugins and know their limits: slow pages, tangled addresses, redirects that break robots and sitemaps. We are building our own translation system into our page platform, made for exactly the sites we build: clean per-language addresses, no duplicate maintenance, and full control over what search engines see. Until it ships we set up the best available plugin and configure it around those limits.

Markets we know

We work daily in English, German, French, Polish and Croatian, with a large network of native speakers for other languages, and have built sites for the DACH region, the Adriatic and international audiences. We know which legal pages each market expects and which formats, currencies and date conventions have to change with the language.

Questions we hear often

Machine translation or human?

Human for anything a customer reads to make a decision; machine with human review for large catalogues where the alternative is no translation at all. We are clear about which is which.

Can we translate our existing site?

Yes. We add the language structure to your current site, or combine it with a migration.

Does it slow the site down?

It should not, and on our setup it does not. Translation plugins are a common cause of slow sites; we test speed per language before launch.
