Care & Hosting

Maintenance & Updates

WordPress, themes and plugins release updates every week. Some fix security holes, some break things. We test updates on a staging copy, apply them on a schedule, watch what happens, and roll back when needed, and we do the small content changes your team never gets to.

What you get

  • Core, theme and plugin updates tested on staging, then applied within an agreed window
  • Security updates applied fast, outside the schedule when they matter
  • Visual checks after updates, automated and by eye, on the pages that matter most
  • Rollback when an update misbehaves, before anyone notices
  • Included hours every month for small changes: texts, images, a new page, a form field
  • A monthly summary of what was updated, what changed and what we recommend

Why updates need a person

Automatic updates are better than none and worse than tested ones. Plugins conflict, themes change markup, a WooCommerce update touches the checkout. A person who knows your site reads the changelog, tests, and decides. That is what a care plan buys.

Our own theme and builder

Sites built on our page platform get their theme and builder updates from us, tested against your site before release, with no third party in between. Sites built by others on standard themes are handled the same careful way; we simply have less control over what the update contains.

Questions we hear often

How often do you update?

Security updates as soon as they are relevant, usually within a day. Everything else on a weekly or fortnightly schedule, depending on the plan.

What counts as a small change?

Anything that takes under an hour and needs no design or development decision: text edits, new images, a new page from an existing layout, form tweaks. Larger changes are quoted separately or planned from your included hours.

What if we do not use the included hours?

They roll over within the quarter, so a quiet month can pay for a busier one.
